Hello! Welcome!
Continuing with my Card a Day in February I am combining it with another Goal of mine. To be prepared for Christmas I have decided to create 6 cards each month. So my Goals are crashing together today. And in true Annette fashion I am already late with January's Christmas cards!!
First I decided to change up the colours and use a few favourites; Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Balmy Blue. And the great part is I used up a bunch of scrap pieces I had in my stash.
Below is a screenshot from a blog post by Jackie Aitken, a Super Creative Demonstrator from Australia.
I have admired this card for a while and thought it would be a quick and 'easy' card to get done quickly since I started on Jan. 30. Well 'quick and easy' wasn't exactly accurate LOL!!
Figuring out all those strips I was guessing and soon had more than I needed and decided to turn it into a slimline. the top white layer is 3 1/8 x 8 1/8", then I put a black layer behind that measuring 3 1/4 x 8 1/4" and the cardbase is 8.5 x 7 and scored ad 3 1/2". Another change was to emboss the vellum scalloped circle with the snowflake embossing folder which is retired. Instead of heat embossing white snowflakes on those strips I decided to die cut a bunch from white cardstock and place them around the sentiment and snowman. The snowman is stamped with black memento ink and then fussy cut. The sentiment is stamped in versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder then fussy cut as well.
And you know I can’t leave the inside naked!!
