Stampin Up! lists the neutrals as Mossy Meadow, Misty Midnight, Night of Navy, Blackberry Bliss, Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Smokey Slate and Basic Gray.

I was planning to use Navy and the houses that as so popular this year.  But I have this set of dies on my desk that are screaming to be used.  The Poetic Petals Dies were a must have for me.  I'm surprised that these dies are not showing up in my instagram and facebok feed.  They pair well with the Heirloom boutique dies, another MUST have as they look like mini versions of those flowers.

I used Crumb cake and Early Espresso on both cards

Stamping Inkspirations - Tic Tac Toe

 

Hello!! Welcome!! Have you ever played Tic Tac Toe? 

Of course you have...my daughter is a champ!!

Have you ever played card Tic Tac Toe???

Well that is the challenge today!

The hardest part is which boxes do you want??

Round, Twine, Cheerful?

Layers Neutral Round?

Leaves Vellum, Cheerful??

So I chose Round, Twine, Cheerful

I cut out a large circle on printer paper, blended a circle with pool party. That’s my ‘round’.

Then arranged some lily of the valley stems and leaves. Which I think is very ‘cheerful’

Finished it with  thanks, a bow tied with ribbon instead of ‘twine’ and a few sequins.

Stamping Inkspiration - Rubber band technique

 

Hello friends!

Today we were tasked with the rubber band technique.  One I have never used and I am not convinced that it's going to be repeated.  Let me know what you think!

First I wrapped vaious sized elasics aound blocka and decided to use the same colour so as to make it easier to make a few cards.

Hydrangea Hue is mu current favem here are the results of my inking us these blocks.

I did try the new Pine colour, thnking I could use it for leaves.  This requres more time than I had.

Then I cut up the pieces and cut mats as I thought that always makes a card better.

Be Inspired - Creating Backgrounds

Backgrounds!!

They can be as simple as a piece of cardstock and as complex as dies/embossing/watercolour...the possibilities are endless!!

I chose to focus on the gorgeous Artisan Designer Series Paper.

I could not WAIT to fussy cut it!!

For todays cards I chose to show you a few colouring techniques.  So grab some black and white dsp's, some blends or your favourite colouring medium and give these cards a try!

First I singly coloured the dsp using a small blending brush for the flowers with Barely Blush and a Soft Seafoam Stampin Blend marker for the leaves.

Added a sentiment, a few sprigs and some possibly retired Pretty Pink ribbon.

For the next card I got my Highland Heather blends and started colouring the flowers, colouring the centres with Daffodil Delight, and the leaves with Peaceful Pine.  I went a step further and coloured the background with Pool Party to really make the flowers pop!  I fussy cut a few flowers from the dsp and added them to the sentiment with a piece of Peaceful Pine ribbon and I Love how it came out!

For the final card I used a technique I learned from my lovely friend Emma Goddard and only coloured the background, I added some pink to the flower centres and Peaceful Pine on a couple leaves.  I think these flowers look amazing left uncoloured!   I added a scalloped circle for the sentiment, and a few more fussy cut flowers.  Then finished with a piece of Cloud Cover Ribbon and Black Bakers twine.   

I can't decide which is my favourite.  And honestly I could have kept going!!

There are still so many ways to play with dsp for your background!!

Be Inspired - Creative Ways to Use Sentiments

 

Hello friends!! Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop!!  Today we are showcasing different ways to use sentiments. I learned this one from Emma Goddard, the Coastal Crafter. 

I am using a new bundle called All Aflutter. 

And one of the new incolours Barely Blush. Annnd the new shimmer pens. The photo doesn’t do it justice. My butterflies are super sparkly!!

Cardbase 8.5 x 5.5, scored at 4.25”

The top piece is 3.25 x 4.5”

I have stamped full strength all over the top layer with my sentiment. I also spattered the ink. But again. The camera doesn’t pick it up. 

This bundle comes with a punch. So you can make alot of butterflies quickly!!  This is a great bundles for new and experienced card makers.

Be Inspired - Stamping Techniques you'll use forever

Welcome!!  Today we are featuring Stamping Techniques I will use forever.  

There are so many to choose. 

This weekend I made a bunch of Easter cards with the Easter Basket Bundle by Stampin’ Up!  It is adorable and I can’t stop playing with it!!

So I decided a technique that I will never give up is colouring with my Stampin’ Blends.  These alcohol markers are perfect for bringing these cards to life.

I primarily used Pretty Pink, Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green.  The bundle includes a die that cuts out an Easter basket  and I die cut a bunch of flowers, bunnies and carrots to stuff the baskets and area around the basket.  I hope you love them as much as I do!    

When I stuffed the carrots in around the bunnies above I had an inspiration that this basket should have been in a carrot patch and the next card was created.  

All the above cards have easter eggs and say Happy Easter and while this card certainly should say Happy Easter, 

that will happen when I return to my craft room.  

I had to continue my carrot patch inside the card.  

I hope you agree that colouring is a stamping technique that you will use forever, especially with Blends!!

AWOW - Use your Stash

Hello Friends!! Today we are hopping around the world using our stash!!

And this years theme has been to case some of our members.    

Today we are caseing one of my favourite cardmakers.

Just to remind you Case is Copy And Share Everything.

Today we are Caseing the amazing Kim Fee.  She taught us how to make our robots and pots rusty.  She turns flowers into butterflies.  She makes the most beautiful cards.  I am happy to say she is a friend and even more excited that she is also a cheerleader sending me the most encouraging messages.

Kim is a Three time Artisan and if I haven't convince you to go check her out, what are you waiting for?? Simply Fairies is her biz name.

We are to use our stash.  Kim's all time favourite stamp set is Hand Penned.  So I went into the archives as it is a gorgeous stamp set that I also will never part with.  I even have some of the Saleabration dsp that came out with it.  Hope you love my cards.  I couldn't settle on just one.
