The 14th of the month is Team Hop Day

Hello friends!! Today we are playing with sketches!

I just received the new Seaside Wishes bundle and cold not wait to play with it!!

I ended up using the two sketches on the left as my inspiration.  I would love to have used all 4..but alas time was not on my side.

This bundle has a embossing folder and it is gorgeous!  I used watercolour paper in the folder, spritzed it  then used a waterbrush and Boho blue on the whole thing.  Dried it with my heat gun and decided to add Misty Moonlight to the sand dollars.  The dies have coral bits and starfish.  I used Calypso coral and a brush to colour the starfish, which is also watercolour paper.  Then added a linen thread bow to the bck of my sentiment and a strip of Thoughtful Designs paper for a bit of sparkle.

I used a technique I saw my buddy Emma Goddard us and had to duplicate it!! I inked up the actual embossing folder, Spritzed it, added a piece of watercolour paper and ran it through the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine.  Oh I forgot to tell you I used Gorgeous Grape...Did you know that a live sand dollar is a beautiful purple??? They are sooo Pretty!!!

I stamped a Mistly Moomlight starfish in both sizes and added more coral, linen thread and a white heat embossed on black sentiment...which always looks so great!!

I hope you enjoyed my cards and I hope you try out these sketches!!

Stamping Inkspirations - Christmas in July

Christmas in July!!
I know what you are thinking...
NOT during summer!!
But you guys, I am always so far behind by the time that November gets here that my Christmas cards don't show up until January!!!  Here is a little story.  We went to our friends house in Virginia, the plan was to go visit their sons new homes, one in Virginia and the other in North Carolina.  Then back to their house to welcome the New Year.  Well didn't my Christas cards show up the day we arrived at both of their homes!! I got accused of slipping them into their mail boxes.  Ha! Ha!  They had postage and marking thank goodness!!  I don't think my friend got hers until we had left.  I am determined NOT to let that happen this year!!!  And I thought others might be in the same situation and like to get a head start too.  If you aren't that person, I have used a couple of sketches that you can use some non Christmas..at least then...you can still get your craft on!! Plus our fearless leader has provided colour inspiration!!

Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Peach Pie, Basic Beige, Balmy Blue

I used Peach Pie and Balmy Blue for my background and a little white heat embossing.
I blended with both colours too.  Then stamped and fussy cut 2 Poppy Parade Snowflakes.  The sentiment is white heat embossing on Balmy Blue cardstock.
I am curious what you think??

Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Peach Pie, Basic Beige and Crumb Cake

The background is stamped off Basic Beige and Crumb cake with some Crumb Cake blending.
Then I stamped a few snowflakes with Peach Pie and die cut the circles.
I then blended some peach pie near the darkest stamping to add some dimension.
The sentiment is white heat embossing on Poppy Parade.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas in July cards.
Please keep hopping to see what others have made!!
Happy Stampin'

AWOW - March Blues

Hello friends!  Today is an Around the World on a Wednesday kinda day!!

I am very excited about the theme; March Blues.  I Love all the Stampin' Up! Blues!!

Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight, and Night of Navy

are the blues for the challenge.

So as not to make any of them feel unloved I played with them ALL!!

I pulled out the much loved, but somewhat neglected Colour and Contour.  I used it at my card buffet recently and thought it would be perfect for this theme.  I also used the Sympathy sentiment from Heartfelt Hexagon.  While stamping that sentiment with some daisies I was struck by how I could easily make a simple card with this set and could not help myself!!
These were made using the last bits of Boho Blue and Mistly Moonlight.

First up is Balmy Blue, I stamped with Balmy Blue all over the card front, tied a bow with my favourite variegated ribbon (which I have also been neglecting).  Blended a little colour to the flower centers then a sploosh of Wink of Stella.  I stamped and fussy cut a few out to add some sparkle to the middles then went nuts with the Basic Rhinestones LOL!

Pool Party!! One of my favourite colours although I don't think I would consider it a blue so much.  This is all over the card front stamping with pool party.  I started in the center and worked my way out from there.  The centers were coloured with a Blends marker.  Stamped and cut out a few leaves.  added somePool Party Ribbon and Rhinestones.  To make the sentiment stand out I inked it up with Versamark then Pool Party and finished with clear and embossing powder and my heat tool.

Night of Navy, I am sure that I could have stamped Night of Navy on Night of Navy, but I thought the white heat embossed flowers would stand out more.
More importantly it photographed really well!!
There is some blending of Night of Navy around the edges..but it is pretty faint in this photo.

Misty Moonlight.  I punched out a bunch of Hexagons, randomly stamped flowers on them.  Arranged them on the card front and blended some Misty Moonlight on the bottom right edge to create a cool effect.  All the shapes are adhered with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and that you give these ideas a try.
Really you can do this with any flowers!!
Please keep on hopping and see what my friends around the world have made..

Beautiful Balloons

Today I am sharing a card I made with the Beautiful Balloons Bundle
It was a set I had to have because balloons are fun for Birthdays!!

Here are the measurements

 Cardbase 4.25 x 11", scored at 5.5" Basic White

Dsp 2.5 x 5.5"
Basic White layer 3.5 x 4.75"
Sentiment layer is 3/4 x 2.75"
dsp 2.5" strip and the pink scallops were made using the Scalloped Contour dies

The dsp is a fun colourful stripe from a dsp pack that I think has retired.
So my balloons co-ordinate with those; Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point and Polished Pink.

You can make this card by choosing any striped dsp and pulling colours from it.  This layout is super versatile!!

Happy Stampin!!

Team Hop!!

 Happy Valentine's Day!!

It's also Team Hop day and today we are showcasing products from the Mini Catalogue.

I chose my bees!! I was feeling the Love!!

I saw someone make a card with the bees and pair them with blue and had to try it!! So I reached for Tahitian Tide.  It is a retiring colour and I feel as though I haven't used it as much a I should have considering that I Love this colour!!

I played around with the backgrounds.  But I cannot, not put 3 bees on a card LOL!!

For this background I cut 1.5 x 1.5" squares, stamped honey combs on them and blended the edges with Tahitian Tide.  Embossed the card front 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" with the time worn text embossing folder.

Now the blending with Tahitian looks good, but it is a bit faint.  So for this card I punched out hearts with the Bee punch, and blended Tahitian first, then added Orchid Oasis.
The background was done the same except I stamped Love you all over it, and embossed it with the Softly Sophisticated embossing folder then blended the edges with Tahitian then Orchid Oasis.  I also spattered some Orchid Oasis on the front before attaching the bees and hearts with dimensionals.

Hope you all have a Great Day!!
Thanks for stopping by and Please go see what everyone else is playing with today!!
