Welcome, and for those who are here for the first time,
my name is Annette Ball I am an independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in Canada. Today I am hopping with my friends on the Stampers Showcase Group.
The Theme this month is Winter/Holidays
Well here in Ontario Winter hasn’t quite hit. We actually had a mild weekend that made working outside enjoyable and I caught up on some gardening as I hadn’t planted all my tulips and daffodils I had bought and was a little upset with myself. So that task is now complete!! Yeah me!!
When the annual catalogue came out I was pretty happy that Snowman Season had returned. I absolutely live those adorable snowmen!! And I thought to create a winters holiday card I would make a “faker” shaker card. I picked out a piece of dsp from Snowflake Splendor cut it to 4.25” x 5.5” then ran it thru the snowflake embossing folder. I used the new blending brushes to add some colour to the snowflakes so they would stand out a bit more. I placed it inside one of our clear envelopes. I pushed it into the corner, then ran a strip of tearing tape along one side and folded the envelope over to ensure a tight fit and making the envelope 4.25” wide. I poured in a healthy amount of the snowflake sequins..another carryover item I Love!! Then sealed it up. Ran tearing tape around all four sides and a couple across the middle and stuck it to a standard Cardbase. 8.5 x 5.5”, scored at 4.25”.
I stamped the snowman on a piece of Whisper White and fussy cut him out. Coloured his nose Pumpkin Pie and added a little Light Pool Party to add dimension.
I used the blending brush to add colour to the circle....you are going to LOVE those blending brushes!! Coming in the Jan-June catalogue. Then stamped a few flurries around the snowman and attached him with Dimensionals. Die cut a few snowflakes and tucked them around the circle which I used tearin tape to attach to the envelope. I find it holds best. I wanted a smaller sentiment and found this one in Have a Hoot. Then I added a double bow using the polka dot tulle ribbon.
I hope you enjoyed my card. Everything you see is available at my online store. Just click on the Canadian Flag to get there.
