Christmas in July is this month's theme!

Huge confession to make....after many late nights leading up to Christmas and many cards arriving well after Christmas I decided in January that every month I was going to make a bunch of Christmas cards and get ahead...well life takes over and I think I did it once...Christmas in July gives me the opportunity to build up that stash a little bit more!!  Now what to use....

The Poinsettia Petal's bundle was a late purchase last year when I found out it was returning in the annual catalogue and this is it's first use!! I lost my beloved Mum a few years ago on Christmas Eve if you can believe that.  And she was an avid card maker and would have been ALL over this bundle and everyone would have gotten a Christmas card made with it.  It is not my style but it reminds me of my Mum so I kinda had to have it.  We got some gorgeous white velvet paper coming in the new Mini (Aug. 3) and as a demonstrator I can get my hands on it now!! So I used it on this card to make my favourite pink Poinsettia's.

 Cardbase; Early Espresso 5.5 x 8.5", scored at 4.25"

First Layer; In Good Taste DSP (currently on sale 15% off)

The flowers and leaves have been cut from white Velvet paper and I used the blending brushes in Polished Pink and Garden Green.  A few of the leaves are garden green with ink added with my blending brush as well.

The ribbon, sprigs and flower center are Polished Pink.  I tiled 2 bows making one smaller then the other and stuck them on top of the other...I wanted an extravagant bow!

The sentiment is Silver Embossed on Crumb Cake and I put a swirl of the silver trim behind it

The card has 3 Pale Papaya incolor jewels in the center and a scattering of Polished Pink around the card.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and they have inspired you to stamp and create.
