You've Got Mail - Around the World Blog Hop

Thanks so Much for stopping by!

For those who are here for the first time,
my name is Annette Ball, I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in Canada.  Welcome to
Stampin' with the Bees.

Thanks so much to Angie McKenzie for inviting me to participate in the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!!  I was so excited to be asked!!

Today's Theme is You've Got Mail!

It is always a Great Day when you receive some Happy Mail!! You know the pretty envelope and the card that makes you smile...But it is the inside that sometimes gets forgotten about..and left Naked, oh the horror.....except for some handwriting.  Well I Love to jazz up my insides and that is what I am going to share today.

A bunch of ways to jazz up your card inserts. And of course some cards to go with them!! I am going to use the Snailed it bundle as it has some great “mail” sentiments and I haven’t gotten inky with it yet!!

I made a trio of cards!!
three different ways to finish your inside.

Now Let's not forget about the envelope!!
Have you ever glued a piece of dsp to the envelope flap?
I couldn't not mention one more way to jazz up your mail.

Here is a close up of the snail hoping you could see the white heat embossing behind the snail as well as the pieces I fussy cut to add dimension and the wink of Stella on her shell!

First of all if you are using coloured cardstock, especially something dark like Bermuda Bay I believe you Must line your card with a piece of Basic White. 4 x 5.25" or 4 1/8 x 5 3/8".  This also gives you the perfect opportunity to stamp an image inside the card...it is unexpected and I promise makes your card extra special and will bring a smile to the recipient!  Heck just getting a handmade card does that!

For this next card I cut the 8.5 x 11" cardstock in half at 4.25" and scored at 5.5" then turned it sideways and trimmed off 1.25" from the front.  Then adhered a piece of dsp measuring 1 x 4".  Now you do not have to trim off the front...but I thought it added interest.  Placing a strip of cardstock inside is a Great way to use up some of those pieces you always end up with when making cards!

Using a Basic White card base is a quick and easy way to decorate your inside because the added layer is not necessary...not to say I haven't dome it.  It leave a more finished look and if you happen to screw up your stamping it also cover that up 'wink'.

I die cut some extra hearts and used glue dots to attach 2 with the end of the twine between to add a little motion to the card..the blushing bride hearts are slightly smaller on purpose and were cut with the dog builder punch.

The next idea illustrated how much I Love those little hearts!
Adhering die cuts into the inside as well as stamping a sentiment is another way top decorate your inside.
Take a look at your stamp sets, I bet you can find a few that have stamps that work for the inside as well as the outside.  Now my die cuts are from cardstock..but a lot of our dsp can be die cut as well and can also be used inside. especially if it is a partial die cut from the edge.  Just like it up with the inside of your Basic white liner and you have found a use for all this pieces you thought were trash!

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and they have inspired you to stamp and create.
