AWOW Colour Challenge

Today we are hopping with a colour challenge.  Below are the 2 pictures to inspire our cards.

My intention when I saw the pictures was to do brightly coloured houses using the yuletide village stamp set.  But I am travelling and while I brought a few things because I cannot travel without craft supplies.  I don't really have the right things.
So I chose to do a snowglobe with the houses as that is at least close to the original plan.  I hope you like my card.

Please keep hopping to see what the others have made!

Stamping Inkspirations - CAS

CAS - Clean and Simple

I used to follow a lady whose name escapes me..but her whole thing was Clean and Simple cards.  As you know this is so not my thing.  But I have a stamp set that I think lends itself to this challenge quite easily.  I was going to resist the snowflake bundles this year.  I have several snowflakes at my disposal having kept every set I have bought.  For those of you who are new here...Annette LOVES snowflakes!!  The set is called One of a kind and I Love it!!
Here we go...

I played with the backgrounds but still kept it clean and simple. I used Summer Splash, Pretty in Pink and Petunia Pop. Hope you like it!!
Please go and check out the other cards my friends have made.

Stamping Inkspirations - Sketch Challenge

Hello friends!! How Lucky can a girl get than to play with 2 great sketches in the same week??!. You know I Love a sketch.  I find they are a great starting point!! This particular sketch inspired me to pull out our new two toned cardstock and start tearing!!  The new cardstock is a bit lighter weight than our current cardstock and it is 2 shades different than the current cardstock, one on the front and one on the back.  It’s fast becoming a new favourite of mine!! First, here is the sketch.

See doesn't it make you wanna start tearing and crumpling paper??!!
Here is what I made.

The cardbase is Petal Pink 5.5 x 8.5", scored at 4.25"
The white layer is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" and stamped with snowflakes
Then I used the darker side of the Petal Pink two-toned cardstock measured at 3 x 4"
I used the same width of 3" and tore to fit where I wanted flipping them to get the darker and lighter sides. The first darker layer I crumpled for some dimension, the last piece under the Pool Party Layer was embossed with snowflakes.  I crumpled and stamped snowflakes on the Pool Party layer.  But I didn't just stamp them, I used versa mark then Pool Party Ink and clear embossing powder to make them shiny.  I tied a bow with the gorgeous silver and white 1/2" sheer ribbon.  Then adhered to the front of the card and sprinkled with Rhinestones for a little more pizzaz!!  I Love how it turned out and may make a few in various colours!!  Angie picked out an Awesome sketch!!  I Love my card!!

This is your reminder to stamp the inside of the card and your envelope!!  Something you do not get from a card purchased in the store!!
Please hop along to the next blog
as there are lots more beautiful cards to be inspired by!!

AWOW - Sketch Challenge

Hello friends!  Today we have a sketch!! My favourite kind of hop!!

So first here is the sketch.

I have been playing with the Snowy Wonder Bundle and that circle in the middle screams for a snow globe, and right away when I saw this sketch that is all I can see.  Sketches are great and I changed it up a little bit.

Details:

Cardbase 5.5 x 4.25", scored at 4.25"

Poppy Parade Layer 4 1/8 x 5 3/8"

Pool Party 1.75" x 4" (2 pieces, embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder)

DSP is 1.50 x 4 1/8"

I attached the Pool Party and dsp to the Poppy layer, then wrapped the Real Red & White Bakers twine then attached it to the white cardbase

The Petal Pink two toned cardstock is 2.25 x 4.75"

The snow globe is fussy cut from the Snowy Wonder dsp and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals

I embellished with the Real Red and White Adhesive backed Peppermints to finish it off.

I hope you Love it as much as I do!!  Please keep hopping to see what my friends from around the world have made with this sketch...I can't wait!!

The 14th of the month is Team Hop Day

Hello friends!! Today we are playing with sketches!

I just received the new Seaside Wishes bundle and cold not wait to play with it!!

I ended up using the two sketches on the left as my inspiration.  I would love to have used all 4..but alas time was not on my side.

This bundle has a embossing folder and it is gorgeous!  I used watercolour paper in the folder, spritzed it  then used a waterbrush and Boho blue on the whole thing.  Dried it with my heat gun and decided to add Misty Moonlight to the sand dollars.  The dies have coral bits and starfish.  I used Calypso coral and a brush to colour the starfish, which is also watercolour paper.  Then added a linen thread bow to the bck of my sentiment and a strip of Thoughtful Designs paper for a bit of sparkle.

I used a technique I saw my buddy Emma Goddard us and had to duplicate it!! I inked up the actual embossing folder, Spritzed it, added a piece of watercolour paper and ran it through the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine.  Oh I forgot to tell you I used Gorgeous Grape...Did you know that a live sand dollar is a beautiful purple??? They are sooo Pretty!!!

I stamped a Mistly Moomlight starfish in both sizes and added more coral, linen thread and a white heat embossed on black sentiment...which always looks so great!!

I hope you enjoyed my cards and I hope you try out these sketches!!

Stamping Inkspirations - Christmas in July

Christmas in July!!
I know what you are thinking...
NOT during summer!!
But you guys, I am always so far behind by the time that November gets here that my Christmas cards don't show up until January!!!  Here is a little story.  We went to our friends house in Virginia, the plan was to go visit their sons new homes, one in Virginia and the other in North Carolina.  Then back to their house to welcome the New Year.  Well didn't my Christas cards show up the day we arrived at both of their homes!! I got accused of slipping them into their mail boxes.  Ha! Ha!  They had postage and marking thank goodness!!  I don't think my friend got hers until we had left.  I am determined NOT to let that happen this year!!!  And I thought others might be in the same situation and like to get a head start too.  If you aren't that person, I have used a couple of sketches that you can use some non Christmas..at least then...you can still get your craft on!! Plus our fearless leader has provided colour inspiration!!

Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Peach Pie, Basic Beige, Balmy Blue

I used Peach Pie and Balmy Blue for my background and a little white heat embossing.
I blended with both colours too.  Then stamped and fussy cut 2 Poppy Parade Snowflakes.  The sentiment is white heat embossing on Balmy Blue cardstock.
I am curious what you think??

Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Peach Pie, Basic Beige and Crumb Cake

The background is stamped off Basic Beige and Crumb cake with some Crumb Cake blending.
Then I stamped a few snowflakes with Peach Pie and die cut the circles.
I then blended some peach pie near the darkest stamping to add some dimension.
The sentiment is white heat embossing on Poppy Parade.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas in July cards.
Please keep hopping to see what others have made!!
Happy Stampin'
