Stamping Inkspirations - Sounds of the Season

Sounds of the Season; a favourite theme for our wonderful leader.  Can I let you in on a little secret...this is my least favourite theme..so much so that I have skipped it in previous years..

I am just not a Christmas carol loving person.  You will not hear me playing them in the car, or while decorating at home.  That said I will play them at Christmas card classes and maybe even singing softly to a few that I can stand.  I have always liked a couple.  Particularly the one that has the snowman in the mea meadow, walking in a Winter Wonderland.  I also love a good snowfall when its not too cold and its light and has the big fluffy snowflakes.  If you are new here, I LOVE Snowflakes!!

So here is my big fluffy white, with a hint of gold embossing snowflakes.

Maybe I should have embossed the background with trees to simulate walking in the woods.  But as the song goes, we are walking in a meadow.  I hope you like my card!

Team Hop-sketch challenge

Team hop Day and we are playing with a Sketch, my favourite way to make a card!!!

Here is the sketch

I used Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop and Fresh Freesia  tp stamp the snowflakes on my card.  @of them are stamped and die cut the rest are stamped directly to the card front.
I spattered Fresh Freesia and Wink of Stella

Hope you Like my card today.  Please go check of the other team members cards.  I am always curious to see how others interpret a sketch!!

AWOW New to me Technique

Hello friends!! Today we are playing with techniques!

So I chose a sketch and did it 3 ways playing with the background.

This is a techinique that you can get a bunch of cards made quickly or a way to make a few cards that look very different but you don't have to think so hard because you are using the same layout.

The first card is a solid piece of dsp cut 3 x 4", then I added the circle the gorgeous birs and embellishments.

Next I took that same 3 x 4" piece of dsp and cut it into 3" strips, added the same circle and embellishments.  Then added a penguin to go with the dsp.

For my last card I chose to use cardstock, I stamped snowflakes all over it using the technique of using the same ink and cardstock.  Petal Pink went beautifully with this snowman.  I cut it into 1" strips then blended all the edges.  For my embellishments I went with sparkly ribbon, added a few snowflakes from the One of a Kind bundle and there you have it.

3 cards with the same basic layout using the technique of changing up the background.
I hope you like my cards and you keep hopping to see all the gorgeous techniques the other friends from around the world are using.

AWOW Colour Challenge

Today we are hopping with a colour challenge.  Below are the 2 pictures to inspire our cards.

My intention when I saw the pictures was to do brightly coloured houses using the yuletide village stamp set.  But I am travelling and while I brought a few things because I cannot travel without craft supplies.  I don't really have the right things.
So I chose to do a snowglobe with the houses as that is at least close to the original plan.  I hope you like my card.

Please keep hopping to see what the others have made!

Stamping Inkspirations - CAS

CAS - Clean and Simple

I used to follow a lady whose name escapes me..but her whole thing was Clean and Simple cards.  As you know this is so not my thing.  But I have a stamp set that I think lends itself to this challenge quite easily.  I was going to resist the snowflake bundles this year.  I have several snowflakes at my disposal having kept every set I have bought.  For those of you who are new here...Annette LOVES snowflakes!!  The set is called One of a kind and I Love it!!
Here we go...

I played with the backgrounds but still kept it clean and simple. I used Summer Splash, Pretty in Pink and Petunia Pop. Hope you like it!!
Please go and check out the other cards my friends have made.

Stamping Inkspirations - Sketch Challenge

Hello friends!! How Lucky can a girl get than to play with 2 great sketches in the same week??!. You know I Love a sketch.  I find they are a great starting point!! This particular sketch inspired me to pull out our new two toned cardstock and start tearing!!  The new cardstock is a bit lighter weight than our current cardstock and it is 2 shades different than the current cardstock, one on the front and one on the back.  It’s fast becoming a new favourite of mine!! First, here is the sketch.

See doesn't it make you wanna start tearing and crumpling paper??!!
Here is what I made.

The cardbase is Petal Pink 5.5 x 8.5", scored at 4.25"
The white layer is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" and stamped with snowflakes
Then I used the darker side of the Petal Pink two-toned cardstock measured at 3 x 4"
I used the same width of 3" and tore to fit where I wanted flipping them to get the darker and lighter sides. The first darker layer I crumpled for some dimension, the last piece under the Pool Party Layer was embossed with snowflakes.  I crumpled and stamped snowflakes on the Pool Party layer.  But I didn't just stamp them, I used versa mark then Pool Party Ink and clear embossing powder to make them shiny.  I tied a bow with the gorgeous silver and white 1/2" sheer ribbon.  Then adhered to the front of the card and sprinkled with Rhinestones for a little more pizzaz!!  I Love how it turned out and may make a few in various colours!!  Angie picked out an Awesome sketch!!  I Love my card!!

This is your reminder to stamp the inside of the card and your envelope!!  Something you do not get from a card purchased in the store!!
Please hop along to the next blog
as there are lots more beautiful cards to be inspired by!!
